Radio and Black Box Management

Wed, 10 Jul 19

In order to accomplish these goals, effective immediately:

  1. Any pilot who presently has a radio and black box should keep that equipment in his possession unless specifically asked to return it by the FSO-CM (Wayne Smith).

  2. No transfer of equipment from one member to another should take place without first going through the FSO-CM. For a transfer to occur, the FSO-CM must first take possession of the equipment and then reissue it to the other member.

  3. Whenever The FSO-CM receives a radio or black box, he will issue a receipt for the equipment.

  4. Whenever the FSO-CM issues equipment, the recipient member will sign for it.

  5. Any malfunctioning equipment should be reported to the FSO-CM immediately and exchanged for a functioning replacement.

  6. The FSO-CM will maintain an accurate inventory of all equipment.Any deviation from these guidelines may only occur at the direction of the FSO-CM or FC.

While flotilla equipment is in your possession:

  • No equipment should not be left inside the airplane as extreme temperatures are harmful to the longevity of the equipment.

  • The radio should be removed from the plane and the battery should be charged to full capacity after each flight.

  • Report any damage or malfunctioning equipment to the FSO-CM as soon as possible so the repair can be performed quickly.

Following these guidelines will diminish the risk of malfunction and equipment failure.
